  7.     The former Soviet Union has approached the Pentagon for
  8. an unusual form of assistance. Its armed forces need chaplains.
  9. But with seminaries in Mother Russia shut down for the past 70
  10. years, nobody is sure how to proceed. The Pentagon plans to help
  11. its new brethren-in-arms establish a chaplains corps. Looks like
  12. pretty soon the Vatican will have officers in the KGB's
  13. homeland.
